Simon Nott

I am a freelance writer, publicist and media creator hired mainly in the horse racing and betting industry.

I have written on a freelance basis for local, national and international print media since the 1990s including The Racing Post, The Racing Post Weekender, Inside Edge, The Mid-Devon Gazette and music titles, still active currently for Vive Le Rock, The Bloodstock Notebook and Racing Ahead magazine.

The majority of my current written work is published on-line and often virtually live covering on-course betting activity at the UK's largest meetings. I also handle some PR work for trainer Nigel Hawke and host hospitality guests at Exeter Racecourse. I am the co-founder of the Star Sports funded #BettingPeople series which has now reached 340 long form interviews, mostly but not entirely conducted by me. While I am still heavily involved in my traditional work I am looking to expand casting a wider net for my interviewing skills but have joined the MDN mainly to have breakfast with the movers and shakers of the Mid Shire.
