Shirley Stunell reported that there are some great sponsorship opportunities for local businesses in relation to the Club’s 50th anniversary year:

Dear Mid Devon Network Members

I am writing to you as Club Captain of Downes Crediton Golf Club to share some exciting news and to explore a potential partnership opportunity that would benefit both our club and your business.

In 2026, Downes Crediton Golf Club celebrates its 50th Anniversary—a significant milestone that reflects five decades of community sport, friendship, and local tradition. To mark this special occasion, we are planning a series of celebratory events throughout the year that will bring together our members, their families, and the wider Crediton/Exeter community.

As a valued local business, we would be delighted if you would consider supporting our 50th Anniversary celebrations. Your support could take one of two forms:

• Event Sponsorship – Financial support to help fund our anniversary events
• Competition Prizes – Donation of prizes for our anniversary competitions and tournaments

In recognition of your generous support, we are pleased to offer the following benefits:

• For Sponsors: A dedicated placard featuring your business name and logo displayed on our specially commissioned 50th Anniversary Commemorative Gallery positioned prominently on the 1st tee. This high-visibility location ensures your brand will be seen by all members and visitors throughout the anniversary year and beyond. We will also supply 2x 4 ball green fees and highlight your contribution across our social media channels.
   
• For Prize Donors: Recognition at each event where your donated prize is awarded, including verbal acknowledgment and written reference in event programmes. Additionally, we will highlight your contribution across our social media channels, reaching our engaged community of golfers and local supporters. Plus 1 x 3 ball green fees.

This letter serves as confirmation that the bearer is authorized to speak on behalf of Downes Crediton Golf Club regarding partnership opportunities for our 50th Anniversary celebrations. They will be happy to discuss the various ways your business might be involved and to answer any questions you may have.
